New apartment sparks jump in Dayton home building

Development of an apartment community in Deerfield Township boosted the number of local home building permits in June.

“Home Builders Association of Dayton builder members are feeling a slight increase in confidence as they have experienced some improvement in model home traffic and are active providing pricing to potential buyers which may lead to contracts for new homes,” said Walt Hibner, executive director of HBA of Dayton.

HBA of Dayton tracks building permits in Butler, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties. The organization is a local chapter of the National Association of Home Builders in Ohio.
